The Onrust Log documents Tom and Linda Porter’s adventures as neophyte ship builders, helping to build a replica of the Onrust. The Onrust (Dutch for “Restless”) was built by Dutch explorer Adriaen Block and his crew in 1614 at the end of Manhattan after his ship the Tyger burned at anchor.

The replica is being built at Mabee Farm in Rotterdam Junction near the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson rivers in upstate New York. The official site is at http://www.theonrust.com. We expect it to be ready for the Albany quadricentennial in early 2009.
